What I Wore Lately Vol. 130

What I Wore Lately Vol. 130

Good morning! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately. This is where I round up my everyday outfits from the past two weeks. As usual, I linked up available options for sold out items, and similar for less options where I could. Also, a lot of the items I’m wearing are on sale, so I marked those with the links underneath each photo.

Our weather has been pretty up and down lately… And now that I think about it, our LIFE has been very much up and down over the past two weeks. All that to say, my outfits in this post are all over the map.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

Two Weeks of Everyday Outfits

I wore this outfit home from my photo shoot two weeks ago today, and after doing some try-ons, I changed into activewear to go to PT. That was where I got the call from my daughter that ended with her in the hospital having emergency surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. She’s okay now, thank goodness, but that was a long and intense 24 hours.

I don’t have any pictures of what I wore the following day. I slept in my clothes at the hospital, and once we got home, I have no recollection what I wore, or if I even changed at all. I was in survival mode at that point.

By Friday, I was feeling somewhat like myself again, and I pulled on my new Frank & Eileen jeans and this white tee after I got back from an early morning PT appointment. I don’t remember if I went anywhere else that day or not.

And I wore those same jeans again that Saturday, with this old Vince wool/cashmere blend sweater. It was a chilly day, but I wanted to look nice for prom pictures.

1

That’s right, my daughter rallied and was able to go to prom three days post-surgery. (It was laparoscopic.) She paid for it later, and missed a few days of school recuperating, but she says it was worth it. Kids!

I threw on this jacket to follow her and her friends over to a local park to take prom pictures. Unfortunately, the jacket and my sweater are sold out, so I don’t have links.

I wore this outfit to church the next day. It was another chilly, rainy day, and I needed to wear sneakers because of my ankle injury. I was getting sick of wearing blue jeans all the time, so I decided on these washed black straight ankle jeans with the raw hem.

From there, I added this Frank & Eileen button-up that I bought on sale a couple months ago. It’s a discontinued color, but I linked to the current options below. I don’t care for this color with blue jeans, so I’ve been waiting to wear it with black or white denim, and I think this works. It’s a too small to wear buttoned (and it was final sale), so I put it on over a tank and left it open.

This isn’t my typical look, but I kind of like it. The button-up shirt acts as a layering piece in lieu of a jacket.

Also, I love this Naghedi woven hobo bag. I’ve been eyeing it for a while, and I finally took the plunge when I was writing my 2024 Summer Handbag Edit. It’s such a nice quality under-the-radar designer bag for summer, and the woven fabric is practical and lightweight.

I changed after church, and I wore this at home that afternoon and to hang out with friends that evening. This outfit seemed comfier for the chilly, rainy night. I don’t know what it is about black denim, but it never feels as comfortable to me as bluejeans, and this sweatshirt is thick and cozy and really soft inside.

It warmed up a bit at the beginning of last week, and I wore shorts and a tank top to work from home on Tuesday. These are my favorite denim shorts, and they’re part of the Saks sale. I picked them up at the end of summer 2022, and they’re still going strong into their 3rd summer season. I wear them several times a week because they’re so comfortable, and they’re the perfect 5″ length.

I had a photo shoot last Wednesday, and I changed into this outfit when I got home. Speaking of comfortable shorts, I love these for a non-denim style. They have a back elastic waistband, and the stretch fabric makes them more comfortable than your average twill shorts. Plus, the utility details keep them current.

Also, if you’re looking for comfort sandals that don’t look like comfort sandals, I love these Dolce Vita raffia slides in the gold. They also come in natural, black, and a black and natural stripe that’s really fun.

Then I wore this outfit to the mall last Thursday to check out the new Evereve store and meet a friend for lunch. After holding onto these jeans for the past couple of months, I finally ripped off the tags and wore them. I don’t really need another pair of wide leg crops, but these are super lightweight and comfortable, and I love that released hem. As an aside, this pair is cute for a straight ankle style.

KUT from the Kloth Amanda (S) // Splendid t-shirt (M) // FRAME Pixie Palazzo (29) (sorta similar) // Paul Green Hadley sneakers (8) // Naghedi hobo bag in Cashmere (similar for less)

I wore this comfy set to get my nails done, and I found flip flops with arch support — ingenious! I love the silver thongs on the beige footbed. I got mine when I was shopping in-store at Evereve, but the beek website has free shipping and free returns. I’m also considering these. They’re a little pricey, but they’re all handmade leather sandals, such nice quality and good classic styles that won’t go out of style.

We went to an amusement park last Saturday to see our daughter perform with the high school jazz band. It was a chilly day, so I pulled out this ivory henley top and my black Varley ribbed jacket, and I tried wearing my P448s. I’ve missed them! I packed my Brooks in the car, just in case, but I did fine. Also, this Think Rolyn Bum Bag was perfect for being hands-free, and it’s stylish too.

And then I put this outfit together for church on Sunday. It was raining, of course. And yes, I wore sandals. I’m so sick of sneakers, and my foot was more swollen than usual after doing so much walking the day before, so these felt really good on.

This is the jacket I got at Evereve, and I am so glad I ended up bringing it home. I almost didn’t, but it has such a nice fit and feel, and it wore well throughout the day. I love how the color combo in this outfit.

That brings us to last Monday, and we got a brief reprieve from the rain. I pulled out this outfit that I wore in Sarasota back in February to take my daughter to an appointment. I’m so happy to see both of these key pieces (the top and jeans) now available at Nordstrom. I cuffed the sleeves on the top, to give it a lighter look, since I was wearing flip flops.

And then yesterday, I had a dental appointment. It was rainy and overcast again, but I thought it was warm out, so I first put on this lightweight outfit.

1

bobi utility top (M) // Frank & Eileen JAMESON Utility Jogger in Cement c/o (8) // Paul Green Hadley sneakers (8)

But then I realized how chilly it was, so I went back and grabbed these comfy pieces. And it was back into my Paul Green sneakers. I’m so glad I bought these right before my ankle injury. I’m definitely getting my money’s worth out of them. They have the cushion and support that I need right now, without the look of an athletic sneaker.

And that’s a wrap for this edition of What I Wore Lately. I’m really hoping our weather starts to even out, because all of this rain really gets to me after a while. I can’t wait for summer!
