One scroll through TikTok, and it is very clear that Madeline Argy has a grip on the internet. Her storytimes, "Get Ready With Me" videos, and her style are all top of the list of what Gen Z wants to watch—and listen to, considering her podcast Pretty Lonesome launched on Alex Cooper's Unwell network at the end of last year. She just has that certain je ne sais quoi that draws you in and leaves you wanting to emulate her perfectly imperfect life.
Beauty brand Kosas is the same. Across thousands of GRWM videos similar to Argy’s, TikTokers can’t get enough of all of their vegan, cruelty-free “tinted skincare” products. Fan favorites like the Revealer Concealer and the tinted DreamBeam SPF 40 make an appearance in more videos than we can count.
However, if we were to guess, the brand’s newest product might be their most viral yet, thanks in part to Argy being the face of its release. What is the new product, you ask? The BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream ($38), launching February 1.
In celebration of the new launch, Argy sat down with Byrdie to chat the new product and her glowy skincare routine. Read on for everything she puts on her face.
How She Got Into Skincare
I got into skincare because I had to. I went from perfect skin at 14 years old one week, to full-on acne the next. So, I've been playing with products ever since then and experimenting with what works best for me.
Her Morning Vs. Night Routine
My morning routine includes SPF, and my nighttime routine doesn’t! That’s all that really changes. Sometimes, I exfoliate at night, too. I love Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant ($35).
The Skincare Step She Never Skips
I never skip moisturizing. Even if I don't do anything else in my routine, I'll still do that. This is why I like BB Burst—I can put makeup on, which also moisturizes my skin and acts like a serum, so it takes care of my skin even if I forget or don't have time for multiple steps.
How Her Routine Changed Over Time
My skincare routine has changed a lot over time. As a teenager, I used a cream that dried me out and actually gave me temporary wrinkles, so I think I’ve come a long way! Now, I prioritize anything that plumps and hydrates my skin. I really like the Kosas Plump + Juicy Serum Spray ($48) because it’s a super fast way to get a ton of hydration and vegan collagen onto my skin.
The One Product That's Made the Biggest Difference
Kosas BB Burst has been an absolute game-changer for my skin. It instantly makes me look healthier and glowier, and I've also noticed that my bare skin has improved since I started wearing it—it's more smooth and hydrated.
The Best Skincare Advice She's Gotten
The best skincare advice I’ve ever received was from my older sister, who was the first to explain to me what retinol was.
Her Most-Used Product
My most-used product is Kosas’s Revealer Concealer ($30).
The Product She's Used the Longest
The product that’s been in my routine the longest is definitely the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit ($40); I bought it with my first paycheck at 16. Still going strong!
Her Recent Favorite
I recently bought Farmacy’s Honey Halo Moisturizer ($40) and it’s become a favorite.
Her "Tinted Skincare" Routine
I try and go for as natural and glowy as possible. I've been absolutely obsessed with Kosas' new BB Burst. It feels so good going on; it's super hydrating, and you can actually feel the refreshing burst when you apply it.
It has just enough coverage to get rid of any redness and even out your skin, but not too much coverage. Plus, it has a really nice, glowy, healthy-looking effect. So, it makes you look like you've been drinking more water than you have!
I usually just put a little bit of the Kosas Revealer Concealer around my nose because I get redness there, and then the tiniest little dot under my eyes. I love that it's not cakey or thick; it blends in really easily so that you can't tell where you've put it on your face.
