Effortless Curls: A Review of the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand

Back in the summer, I decided I wanted to go back to using a curling wand for curling my hair, so I went into Ulta to see what they recommend, and I walked out with the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand. I’ve been using it for a few months, and I really like it, so today I’m sharing my honest review and a quick hair tutorial.

I had been using the Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener to get my curls, and I have a whole post about that, if you’re interested: How I Use the Dyson Corrale To Smooth & Curl My Hair. It works fine for beachy waves, but I was hoping a wand would give me fuller, bouncier curls when I want a softer look.

When my hair was much shorter, I used the T3 Whirl Interchangeable Styling Wand with the 1″ barrel, but I passed it onto my daughter when I started using the Dyson Corrale. You can see a post about that right here: How To Curl Shoulder Length Hair. But now I’m going full circle, back to a curling wand!

This was a rather spontaneous purchase, and I hadn’t ready any reviews or determined a brand that I wanted, so I went in to Ulta hoping they could give me some direction. I knew I wanted something very simple and intuitive to use, and I didn’t want to spend a lot.

They had quite a few curling irons and wands to choose from, but as I looked around and compared features, the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand seemed to the make the most sense. (It also happens to be on sale online for $52.49!) It wasn’t the cheapest option, but it was far from the most expensive, and it looked simple and easy to use.

I was thinking that with my longer hair, a bigger barrel would be more likely to give me the look I’m going for. The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand comes in three sizes, 3/4″, 1″ and 1 1/4″, so I went with the 1 1/4″ barrel.

It has a simple on/off button with five heat settings. The blue nano titanium barrel evenly distributes high heat up to 430° F, and it has and ionic technology to reduce frizz and lock in shine. It’s surpringly lightweight, and it’s also dual voltage, so I can bring it with me when I travel to Europe.

I came right home that day and put it to the test, and I love how simple it is to set up and go. It heats up quickly, but I will say, the cord gets kind of annoying. I’m spoiled by the cordless Dyson Corrale, but that’s a small nuisance, not a deal breaker.

I thought the barrel looked short compared to my T3, but it’s plenty long for my length of hair, and it has a nice tip on the end that does not heat up, so I can hold it for extra stability.

BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand curls my hair quickly and easily and leaves it glossy and shiny, with curls that last all day. I can usually even get up and go the next morning with only a quick touch up here and there.

STYLING TIP: I usually curl away from my face and leave some of the ends out, so they are a little straighter, but you can curl all the way to the bottom if you prefer that look. You can also alternate curling forward and backward, to give it a little more volume. After it cools, I run my fingers through it and fluff it up and blend it together, but I don’t usually run a brush through it. I prefer it to look a little piecey and loose.

So the verdict? For a mid-range curling wand that comes in a variety of sizes, I feel like the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand is a really good value, especially at the current sale price of .

Does it give me a vastly different look than the Dyson Corrale? Probably not… although maybe I should try curling it all the way to the ends and brushing through it to achieve more of those romantic, bouncy curls I was talking about. I’m actually planning to curl my hair today, so I’ll try it and report back!

All that to say, I probably didn’t need an additional hair tool, but if you are in the market for a curling wand that works well and is easy to use and doesn’t break the bank, I would recommend the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand without hesitation.

The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Curling Wand can be purchased at Ulta, Sephora, Amazon, Target, and QVC. Other hair styling products I use when I curl my hair are this Oligo Calura Express Blowout Mist and the Kenra Volume Spray.
